The French parent asked me to investigate their out of control Spanish subsidiary (15 people), including for possible fraud.
I found a Company in total disarray. The Managing Director and sales manager were allegedly neglecting the business and the Managing Director resigned within a month of my arrival, leaving me to pick up the pieces.
Logistics were changed and I closed the Madrid warehouse and sold the warehouse and office building, moving the offices to rented premises.
The Company was heavily indebted but I was able to convince the many banks involved to maintain their loans to the Company. I also supervised the recovery of an out of control accounts system and recovered the vast majority of customer debts, some several years old.
I replaced almost all the staff and transformed the flagship retail outlet into a profitable and well-managed concern. I recruited a new manager who took over on a permanent basis.
I believe it is fair to say that my presence and actions saved the Company from bankruptcy.
